On Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at the Glen Head Country Club, Sunrise Day Camp will honor three Roslyn couples for their volunteer work to the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings.
The Sunrise Volunteer Award will be presented to: Allison and Matthew Fine, Elyssa and Erik Harris and Bonnie and Daniel Katz.
The award will be given at the 9th Annual Friends of Sunrise event, an evening that includes a cocktail party and auction benefit for the camp, along with an open bar, dinner and auction.
From its beginnings in 2006, Sunrise Day Camp has facilities on the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, a 300-acre wooded site that borders Nassau and Suffolk counties, Pearl River, NY, and locations in Israel. The camp is a program of the Friedberg JCC, a beneficiary agency of UJA-Federation of New York.
The Glen Head Country Club is at 240 Glen Head Rd. For information, call 516-634-4191 or email: amy.pilott@sunriseassociation.org.
