Young Kang, a seventh grade student at Roslyn Middle School, won a Silver Medal in drawing in the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. His award places him among the top one percent of more than 250,000 submissions nationwide. In the same competition, Ludia Ock, a junior at Roslyn High School, won a regional Silver Key Award.
Works by two Roslyn High School students, Jack Lindenman and Ashley Tucker were selected for Long Island’s Best, an exhibition of young artists at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington which is on display through April 27.
The works of these talented young artists and many others will be on display in the exhibition for Roslyn High School students at the Bryant Library, now through the end of April, and in the exhibition for Roslyn Middle School students in May. The library also hosts exhibitions of student art from the East Hills and Harbor Hill Schools each year.
