Kenny Silver, a student at Buckley School and a Roslyn resident recently visited Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel’s office in Albany.
Silver’s interest in state government and the possibility of a career in politics led him to also visit the assemblywoman in her Great Neck office. There, the assemblywoman offered Silver and his mother, Beth Green, the opportunity to spend a day in Albany with her during session.
“Shadowing Assemblywoman Schimel was an amazing experience. It allowed me to see how our state laws are made. I am even more interested to be a part of that process,” said Silver.
“Kenny’s interest in government is refreshing and reassuring at a time when interest in government and politics is said to be waning among our young peoples. Students like Kenny prove that there are a line-up of capable future leaders waiting in the wings,”added Schimel.
