Roslyn Public Schools welcomes Barbara Schwartz as the district’s new Director of Pupil Personnel Services. For the last seven years, Ms. Schwartz served as Assistant to the Superintendent for PPS and Special Education in the North Merrick School District. Previously, she was Director of PPS & Special Education in the Harborfields school district and Assistant Director of Special Services in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich school district. She began her teacher career in schools in Queens. Ms. Schwartz is a graduate of Queens College, with a master’s degree in Special Education from Adelphi University and a professional diploma from St. John’s University.
“Roslyn is very fortunate to have found an exceptional and highly experienced educator for this critical position in our district,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brenner of Ms. Schwartz’s appointment. “I am confident that Barbara will prove to be not only an effective leader, but also a thoughtful and sensitive one for a department which provides many essential services for Roslyn students.”
Ms. Schwartz replaces Dr. Stuart Grossman, who retired at the end of the 2013-14 school year.
