Last month, Craig S. Johanson of Glen Head, assistant principal at Roslyn Middle School for the past four years, was appointed as the principal of Roslyn Middle School.
The search for candidates for this position was rigorous and thorough, according to Gerard W. Dempsey, Jr., superintendent of Roslyn schools.
“Following an intensive interview process, the Interview Committee overwhelmingly agreed that Mr. Johanson stood out as the most qualified candidate to present to our Board of Education, which made the appointment official last evening,” said Dempsey. “Johanson’s dedication to the education of our students, and to the Roslyn school community as a whole, has been apparent from his first day at the middle school. During his tenure as assistant principal, he has proven himself to be a thoroughly engaged, resourceful, thoughtful and forward-thinking educator. We are confident that as principal of our middle school, he will continue to work tirelessly for our students, staff, parents and community members.”
