On Wednesday, May 11, at 11 a.m., at the Old Westbury Golf and Country Club, 270 Wheatley Road, Old Westbury, the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center’s Friendship Circle Luncheon will be held. The event raises funds to provide financial sustainability for programs at the JCC that improve the lives of those afflicted with dementia and other chronic conditions at any age or stage as well as provide support and education for their families.
This year’s event honors Gisele P. Wolf-Klein, MD, Director of Geriatric Education at Northwell Health. The Tikkun Olam Award will be presented to Judie Chessin and Rhoda Kregsman. Dr. Wolf-Klein is a world renowned geriatrician who understands and values the JCC’s adult day programs because they provide the critically needed support to families in the throes of neuro degenerative disease.
The event will feature a cocktail reception and raffles, as well as a delicious lunch and dessert. The event includes a live performance by entertainer/performer Sandra Bernhard, presented by Americana Manhasset. Bernhard won critical acclaim for her groundbreaking role on the hit sitcom “Roseanne,” and recently launched a hugely popular show “Sandyland” on SiriusXM Radio.
