Roslyn High School came in first place out of 10 teams representing eight high schools in the Mock Trial Tournament recently held at Wheatley School.

Roslyn’s defense team beat Great Neck North in the first round, and in the second match, Roslyn’s prosecution beat North Shore.  Out of 10 teams at the tournament, Roslyn and Glen Cove High School emerged from the first two rounds with the most aggregate points, pushing the two schools into the final trial.

“In the finals, our prosecution team put up an amazing performance allowing us to take the first place plaque,” said faculty advisor, Corey Marx.  The schools participating were the Wheatley School, Manhasset, Syosset, North Shore, Great Neck North, Kellenberg, Glen Cove and Roslyn.

The following Roslyn students participated in the tournament: defense team lawyers Nick Furci, Aaron Czik and Alan Louis; defense team witnesses Ryan Hurwitz, David Jaslow and Daniela Weinstein; prosecution team lawyers Jon Herz, Landon Allen and Mitchell Klein; and prosecution team witnesses Michael Fried, Robbie Miller and Kamyar Ghiam. Roslyn’s two alternates were Brandon Tepper and Alex Goodman, captains who served as mentors to new members.
