Fatal Accident In Old Westbury


Roslyn NewsThe Nassau County Police Department is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred Thursday, July 21, at 4:55 a.m. in Old Westbury.

According to detectives, a 54-year-old-male was traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway at exit 39, when his vehicle became disabled due to a flat tire. The victim pulled over to the right shoulder of the roadway, exited his automobile and was struck by a United States Postal Service tractor trailer.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the truck remained at the scene.

There is no criminality at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.
