Class Act NY Coming To East Hills


JCC_icon_256As they do every summer, A Class Act NY (ACA) will be coming to East Hills.

This year, the famed Manhattan-based acting school will hold a Broadway camp from Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26 at the Sid Jacobson JCC. The week will include a special price for JCC members with an early bird special ending on Wednesday, May 1.

At the camp, actors ages 7 to 18 will work with a Broadway star and a professional music director on song and dance combinations from classic and contemporary musicals.

According to ACA officials, Broadway actors will come to the JCC throughout the week to teach additional workshops on audition technique, on-camera acting, Broadway dance, and more. In addition, campers will be bused into Manhattan see a Broadway matinee on Wednesday and attend a special talk-back with the cast. Last year, ACA campers saw Finding Neverland and Hamilton. At the end of the week, actors will perform in a final showcase revue for family and friends at the state-of-the-art 200-seat JCC theatre.

The classes from Aug. 22 to 26 will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
