Cartoon Gone To Pot

I am at a total loss to understand the purpose or even reason for the editorial cartoon in the Feb. 10 edition of your local newspapers in Nassau County. I find the “Lucky for us Long Island’s First Medical Marijuana Dispensary just opened” captioned with two Girl Scouts selling cookies to be insulting and insensitive to the young women who are proud to be members of an organization which was founded in 1912.

This group empowers girls to realize their dreams by practicing honesty, fairness, courage and confidence and has been responsible for many good deeds and making the world a better place. I still can’t figure out the point of this offensive cartoon and find no humor in it at all.
