Book Fairies At Heights

bookStudents at the Heights School recently participated in a book drive for The Book Fairies, a not-for-profit organization that donates used children’s books to schools with high levels of poverty on Long Island and in New York City.

This was just one of the many activities undertaken by students to help those less fortunate during this holiday season and throughout the year. Whatever the cause and wherever the need – giving turkeys and other food for the hungry on Thanksgiving; distributing toys for ill or disadvantaged children; collecting coats for the homeless; raising funds for research into cancer, AIDS or other life-threatening diseases; contributing to relief efforts after natural disasters; even building a well for African children with no access to clean water – charitable activities are a way of life in each of our schools.

The Parent-Faculty Associations, faculty and staff, secondary clubs and others respond frequently and generously to many calls for help locally, across the country and around the world.
