Benlevi Tops In Math Contest

Mikey_06116ASix students from the Schechter School of Long Island competed in the Noetic Learning Math Contest, held in early April. Mikey Benlevi of Roslyn, the team leader, was the top scorer of all second graders in New York State with a score of 95 percent on the 20 question test. Benlevi was also named to the National Honor Roll, an award for approximately the top 10 percent of participating mathletes. In addition, Ruby Erstein of Roslyn received National Honorable Mention.
Noetic Learning Math Contest is a national mathematics contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students’ interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills, and to inspire them to excel in math. More than 30,000 students representing 765 schools across the country took part in this spring’s contest.
