We are still in the middle of summer, but members of the Middle School student council at the Henry Viscardi School are already helping local children in need prepare for the next school year. In partnership with the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH), the student council recently collected 100 backpack donations stocked with new school supplies, which will be distributed to homeless and at-risk Long Island children at LICH’s annual Backpack Pirates event this summer.
