The Sid Jacobson JCC Children’s Auction Committee members raised $5,300 from a special chocolate bar sale to send a child on full scholarship to Camp Kehilla, the JCC’s day camp for children with special needs, this coming summer. Each bar purchased came with a raffle ticket and one lucky family was selected to tour the Nassau Candy Distributors Chocolate Factory. Town of North Hempstead elected officials Peter Zuckerman, Wayne Wink and Charles Berman stopped by during the sale and awarded the children with special citations for their contributions to the community. The children’s committee raised $16,000 for the JCC’s social services programs.
