At The Sid Jacobson JCC


JCC_112515AHarvey Marx of Old Brookville has been chosen to serve as a member of the Sid Jacobson JCC’s board of directors. Marx, a licensed associate real estate broker affiliated with Douglas Elliman, has been a member of the JCC since 1989. He served on the original fitness committee and spearheaded the expansion of the fitness center and currently serves on the JCC’s membership committee. The JCC’s Nancy Marx Strength to Strength Cancer Wellness Program is named in memory of his late wife.

Shabbat Stop

On Saturday, Dec. 5, from 2:30 to 5 p.m., the Sid Jacobson JCC of East Hills will hold a Shabbat stop. The day will feature activities for all ages including games, face painting, crafts, music and more for children, exercise classes for teens and adults and family community service opportunities. The event is free and open to the community.

Hanukkah Candle Lightings

On Monday, Dec. 7 through Thursday, Dec. 10, the JCC will host weeknight Hanukkah candle lightings. Join the JCC as attendees light candles, sing songs and enjoy treats for Hanukkah. The candle lightings are free and open to the community.

College Exam Practice Tests

On Sunday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the JCC will host college exam practice test for the PSAT, SAT and ACT, along with an informational parent seminar. The practice tests are open to students currently in grades 7 through 12. Learn about the differences between the new SAT and redesigned ACT, why preparing for the PSAT is important and more. Pre-registration is required for this event and the fee is $10.
